Are there problems in principle with making a Bootable Freesbie DVD, or is this just a matter of making the iso and burning it with an appropriate (?) boot mechanism. Knoppix distributes a bootable DVD.

You might want to ask the DVD creators themselves

‘mkisofs’ can make a bootable DVD image the same way it makes a bootable CD image; no change there. I usually use ‘k3b’ to create CDs and DVDs from ‘.iso’ images. Both work.
